Visiting a new dentist
06.06.16 at 11:16:47

Hello everyone

I haven't posted for a while but I wanted to ask if there is still an information sheet for "Going to the Dentist" as I have recently joined a new dentist and wanted to give them an up to date information sheet as the old one is from 2003 and things may have changed since it was written

Many thanks in advance

The sheet was from the LASG main site Pam which is no longer with us.   If I were you, I would make absolutely sure that the dentist knows that you are allergic to latex and, if your allergy is Type 1, make sure you are first on his list so that he won't have used latex gloved on anyone before you.   Incidentally, my dentist doesn't use latex gloves after I had a chat with him about the dangers to himself and his staff.

Hi Pam,
I had a severe reaction when my hospital dentist had her order for anaesthetic changed by those that control budgets and it transpired the cheaper version , not Citranest, had a latex bung, so check it out.

Our dentist keeps telling me that he runs a latex free surgery and I've yet to find anything to the contrary

I'll remember if ever I visit.   Bit far for regular checks though. Grin
